Thoughts

Our story of Ben. Because of his learning difficulties, Ben wasn’t the spiciest meatball in the ragu. He was such a loving, gentle and tranquil person with the patience of a saint. He knew his limitations in life and that he would not achieve much of what we take for granted. He instead lived for those he loved, and drew what happiness he could from the lives of others around him. Always wanting everyone in his life to be happy, always ready to help people in any way he could, never wanting or expecting anything in return. It may seem Ben’s simple life of almost 60 years have left him without many achievements, No person of title, No wife or children, No wealth or fortune. But without knowing it, Ben was perhaps one of the riches people you’ve ever met, for he possessed something no money can buy. A gift to bring Sunshine, Happiness and Laughter to the lives of people who knew and loved him. A true legend who has enriched the lives of many! “You are never rich until you have something that money can’t buy” Ben spoke badly of no one; He could only see the good in people, when meeting someone new he would Enthusiastically introduce himself to them saying, “Hello I’m Ben” he had a wonderful ability of getting people to engage with him, he could conquer the hardest of people with his love and kindness, leaving his footprints embedded in their heart. When Ben reached the age of 15, his life went into a downward spiral plagued with mental illness. He would not find peace or tranquillity in his life for many years to come. But despite everything, Ben was never bitter or angry about the bad hand life had dealt him. Anxious to please and loath to offend. He was a loving brother and faithful friend. Ben took happiness in seeing people he grew up with getting on with their lives, getting a job, finding a girlfriend, getting married and starting a family. But time stood still for Ben, he couldn’t move on with his friends and people he grew up with. Friends came and went from Ben’s life but he never forgot any of them; he would often talk about people of the past, reminiscing of happy days gone by. Sadly, without Ben, our family chain is broken; nothing will seem the same, we promise to cherish our memories of you. You will live in our heart in all that we do. We are so proud to have you as our brother. Frank, Toni, and Lou.
